A search for a holistic approach to good physical and mental health first led me to study yoga with Yogi Bharata, of the Sivananda tradition, in the mid-90’s. From the first lesson I was totally besotted by yoga and all it had to offer.

Since then yoga has been a part of my life, but it was the way in which yoga sustained and helped me to heal from a serious illness which led me to want to delve deeper into its teachings. Thus began my teacher training with Adam and Akash Bornstein, founders of Radiant Light Yoga.

Yoga is no longer part of my life; it has become a way of life. The more I learn of this ancient science the more integrated I become as a human being and the more I have to offer others.

I am eternally grateful for the teachings of yoga and feel privileged in being able to share these with others. My classes are an opportunity for students to find their own expression of yoga and build a sustainable practice.  My intention is to safely guide individuals through their own exploration of the transformative benefits of yoga and my aim is to provide a relaxed, supported and fun environment for every practitioner

to develop physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

I was initially drawn to yoga for the obvious physical benefits. After taking a few classes I was amazed by the vibrant yet calming energy that yoga devotees seemed to radiate.

After several years of practice I chose to study under Akash and Adam Bornstein founders of Radiant Light Yoga. Through my training I discovered the immense joy of sharing my experiences and knowledge of yoga with others.

I have since completed my Radiant Child teacher training and am now enjoying sharing yoga with children and young adults with special needs. I am passionate about making yoga accessible to everyone of any age, culture, religion and ability.

It is my aim for students to leave my class with a renewed sense of health and wellbeing and a deeper connection to their true self.

Over the years I have experimented with many different styles of physical activity and then I discovered the joy of yoga. I feel blessed to have found yoga and the benefits it has bought to my life, so as a teacher I feel it is a gift when I am able to share yoga with others.

My yoga training started as personal development to grow and create a deeper awareness of myself and through this journey it became a natural progression to start teaching. The classes I provide are a Vinyasa flow with awareness on breath and strengthening. Creating an inner awareness will support growth not only in the yoga practice but also in life, so my teaching facilitates a self acceptance and self  understanding.

In the classes I modify the poses to suit the students, providing gentle adjustments and emphasising smooth transitions and proper alignment. I will support students to reach their edge – helping to create an intensity in their practice that keeps students present and focused. My yoga training was with Adam and Akash Bornstein from Radiant Light Yoga with whom I continue maintain my yoga development.

I was first attracted to yoga as a teenager, and after exploring different styles of yoga over the years, I trained with Radiant Light Yoga. It was this flowing style that really helped me feel the connection between body, mind, breath and spirit. Even now this style of yoga continues to nourish, energise and uplift me. I have also recently completed postgraduate yoga training.

I begin my classes with a focus on the breath, and flow from pose to pose, gradually warming the body. We then move into energising sequences and deeply held poses to build energy, strength and flexibility. I conclude each class with deep relaxation and pranayama to balance and revitalise both body and mind.

My aim in my classes is to help you find energy and joy in your practice, and to help you to find a deeper understanding of yourself through your practice

I began practicing yoga at my university's gym in 2006, and through consistent and dedicated practice I observed in myself a spaciousness of body, mind and spirit. My body and mind were becoming stronger, more open and flexible. I left each yoga class feeling blissful, uplifted, and calm.

Inspired by the profound effects of practicing yoga, it felt natural to delve deeper into my practice through studying with Adam and Akash Borstein, founders and creators of Radiant Light Yoga.

I see yoga is a way of connecting with our highest selves and realising our ultimate potential. I have experienced how the physical postures combined with our breath, awareness and intention have incredible transformative power that carries into all facets of our lives.

Teaching yoga is a creative expression for me; the yoga mat my canvas upon which I see the expression and sequence of poses as limitless. I aim to smoothly transition from pose to pose creating a seamless flow. It is my intention that students leave my class feeling uplifted, revitalised and with a greater sense of connection to themselves. In each class I balance challenge and strengthening with self-nurturing and opening; encouraging inner exploration and emphasising safe alignment throughout the practice.

Not only do I teach yoga but I learn from my students and am always open to feedback and questions, so don't be shy! I live and breathe yoga and it is my absolute joy to be able to share my love of yoga with you.

Tanya has been a qualified teacher since 2004, her teaching style continues to evolve as her experience of this beautiful practice evolves.  Her teachers have come from varied backgrounds of yoga traditions as she believes we all have something of value to share.

Tanya teaches a style that is a fusion of alignment based Vinyasa (flowing movement with breath), and  combines it with pauses to allow time integrate and feel the effects of the poses. Creating a practice were students can find strength within their stretch and stillness within their movements.

Tanya also teaches a style of Partner Yoga called AcroYoga.  This is a combination of Yoga, Acrobatics and Healing Arts.  Together these modalities create both a therapeutic, nurturing practice as well as strength and focus from a more dynamic practice.  AcroYoga is a fun and playful way bringing individuals into a state of union with themselves, with each other, and with the divine.   With the support of another we can go places we could not on our own.

An unexpected journey into the heart led me to the path of Yoga.  Once there, man I just came alive!!

I finished my initial teacher training with the blessed Adam and Akash from Radiant Light Yoga in 2000 and have had many adventures teaching and practicing Yoga around the globe since then.

I took a quiet side step into motherhood 2 years ago and took a break from teaching classes.

This year, inspired by my little guy, I have taken a quiet step back into teaching at the wonderful Clayfield Yoga Studio.  I am thrilled to bits teaching Yoga again!

Marilyn started practicing yoga 8 years ago whilst living in Dubai working as a flight attendant for an international airline. She was immediately hooked and has never looked back since. After returning to Brisbane, Marilyn continued her discovery of yoga dabbling in different styles such as Bikram, Ashtanga and Hatha yoga. As her passion for yoga deepened so did the desire to share this amazing practice with others. That led Marilyn to complete her yoga teacher training at Byron Yoga Centre in 2009. Marilyn teaches a fusion of Hatha & Power yoga with respect to alignment and breath plus teaching with a smile.

“I get so much enjoyment from yoga. It has created a positive transformation in me with increased vitality also developing balance, coordination and strength both physically and emotionally.  My greatest wish is for all students to not only increase their health and well being through yoga but that yoga effects their hearts and lives profoundly off the matt as well

I was first exposed to yoga as a child, and I recall sharing guided lying meditations on the lounge room floor to old cassettes, with my mum and sister.

The peace, serenity and stillness experienced in these early practices are still the foundation of my practice, and these are the benefits of yoga that I most wish to share in my teaching today.

My first yoga practice was out of a book that was lying around the house in my mid twenties. It was not until I was training in martial arts in the Clayfield hall some years later however, that I enjoyed my first yoga class, after Jonathan had cunningly begun to bring some yoga practice into our martial arts warm ups.

Since then I have had the pleasure of practicing with several different teachers, all of whom had trained with Adam and Akash Bornstein. So when it came time for me to study yoga further my decision was easy.

Radiant Light Yoga provides a wonderful supportive framework in which to learn and develop self-acceptance and compassion while at the same time challenging and discovering oneself anew in each session.

After an association with the beautiful space at Clayfield for over ten years as a student I am truly blessed to be able to share this wonderful practice.
