I have been privileged to teach Hatha Vinyasa Yoga for more than years in many studios across Brisbane. My journey with yoga began as a casual student, attracted by the promise of a strong and bendy body. I soon realized that yoga had so much more to offer, and before long it was an intrinsic part of my week. I came to rely on my yoga practice more and more to find calm within a busy lifestyle. Eventually I decided to take my yoga experience deeper and enrolled in the Radiant Light Yoga teacher training program. Since these first steps I have continued my education with a multitude of teachers from a diverse collection of yoga styles.
My classes create safe space for students to explore yoga in a way that suits their unique body and temperament. My vinyasa flow style classes gently warm and open the body. As we flow with the breath the mind is encouraged to stay present. My Hatha style classes allow for individual adjustments, allowing students to work consciously with their individual needs. My classes include postures to open and strengthen the body, pranayama (breath exercises) to lead the mind to stillness and deep relaxation. Above all I invite my students to practice consciously, to seek their own internal guidance, to challenge themselves when appropriate and to bring an attitude of courage and playfulness.
It brings me great joy to share what I have learned with others and to assist them to take responsibility for their health and wellbeing. I have developed a deep appreciation for the transformative power of yoga, from the purely physical level to the emotional and spiritual. I have seen my students gain enormous value from the practice of self-observation, development of body wisdom and movement as meditation.
