DESCRIPTION:Practicing yoga in pregnancy can help prepare you physically\, mentally and emotionally for labour\, birthing\, and motherhood.  By combining strengthening poses with pelvic stability as well as creating space in the pelvis can minimise discomforts in pregnancy such as back pain\, pelvic pain\, and varicose veins.  Poses that support good posture can encourage deeper fuller breathing\, benefiting both Mum and baby and even give Mums to be more energy! \nCombining poses with efficient breathing practices and deep relaxation helps to create more ease in the body as the pregnancy progresses\, helping to embrace changes and establish a connection with the baby. \nWith over 10 years teaching pre-natal yoga\, our teacher Pamela is also a HypnoBirthing practitioner (childbirth education) so she uses her experience in this field to provide students with basic birthing knowledge to better understand their bodies\, trusting their birthing instincts and tap into their feminine power! \nOur 5-week course will allow Mums to gain confidence and knowledge of how their bodies can find comfort and ease discomfort through yoga.  Each week will add a new technique\, breath practice and relaxation to build a tool kit to draw upon whenever needed through pregnancy\, labour or birth.  Even if you choose to have a caesarean\, the tips and techniques can help you prepare and aid recovery\, improve bonding and feeding. \n \n5 week Yoga for Birth Course \nSpecifically designed course to create optimum health and awareness in pregnancy and to prepare for labour and birth. Over the 5 weeks you will learn: \n\nposes to strengthen\, support good posture & create space in your body\nbreathing techniques to calm the nervous system and manage stress\nthe importance of deep relaxation and visualisation\nhow to manage labour through distraction therapy using movement\, sound\, and touch\nHow to use rebozo and birth ball to ease pregnancy & labour discomfort\nPelvic floor awareness and toning exercises\n\nTaught by experienced pre & post-natal yoga teacher and HypnoBirthing Childbirth Educator\, Pamela Walker.  With over 10 years of teaching pregnancy yoga and supporting women to have a positive birthing experience\, Pamela has designed this course to provide you with a toolkit of tips and techniques to prepare you for labour and birthing. \nNo yoga experience necessary and special conditions of pregnancy can be accommodated (call beforehand to have an informal chat with Pamela) \nWednesdays 10.45 am-12.15 pm Feb 26th – March 25th \nCost $90 5 week course or casual attendance $20 \nBookings essentials to secure a spot.   \nCall Pamela on 0404 753622\, email pamela@alexview.com \nOr visit her Facebook page: Pamela Walker Yoga & HypnoBirthing \n
