There are five Koshas\, each representing a different aspect of the self. Here is a brief overview of each Kosha: \n\nAnnamaya Kosha (Physical Sheath): This is the outermost layer and represents the physical body. It includes the bones\, muscles\, skin\, and organs.\nPranamaya Kosha (Energetic Sheath): This layer represents the energy body or the vital life force within us. It governs the flow of prana (energy) through the body.\nManomaya Kosha (Mental Sheath): This layer represents the mind and emotions. It includes thoughts\, feelings\, and the subconscious mind.\nVijnanamaya Kosha (Wisdom Sheath): This layer represents intellect and wisdom. It is associated with higher knowledge\, intuition\, and discernment.\nAnandamaya Kosha (Bliss Sheath): This is the innermost layer and represents pure consciousness and bliss. It is the essence of our being and the source of joy and peace.\n\nUnderstanding and balancing these Koshas through practices like yoga\, meditation\, and mindfulness can lead to a deeper connection with oneself and a more holistic approach to well-being. \nRESERVE YOUR SPOT HERE\n \nRestorative Yoga:  Connect & ground yourself with restorative gentle yoga poses. SUMMARY:Move to Meditate Class
DESCRIPTION:Move to Meditate\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMove to Meditate classes are designed to prepare your body and mind for deeper spiritual practice. By combining movement\, breath control (pranayama)\, and meditation\, these classes support your physical\, mental\, and spiritual well-being.\nEnergization Exercises: Energizing the Body and Opening Energy Channels \nEnergization exercises involve moving the body to direct life force (prana) to different areas\, recharging them with energy. This helps you stay active but relaxed during meditation and prevents sluggishness. Releasing tension from the body is important\, as physical stress can block deeper meditation. \nAs you learn to control prana\, your energy channels open up\, making them more receptive. This prepares you for breath-control techniques (pranayama)\, allowing energy to flow smoothly in meditation. \nPranayama: Calming the Mind Through Breath Control \nPranayama helps improve focus and concentration. Since the breath is closely linked to the mind\, calming the breath also calms the mind\, helping you enter a state of stillness for meditation. \nYou’ll learn to direct your life energy away from distractions toward the spine and brain—your body’s spiritual centers. This process purifies your nervous system and supports spiritual growth by withdrawing the mind from external distractions. \nHarmonizing Body\, Mind\, and Spirit for Meditation \nCombining energization exercises with pranayama helps align your body\, mind\, and spirit for deeper meditation: \n\nPhysical Preparation: Energization exercises relax and energize the body\, preparing it for long periods of stillness without discomfort.\nMental Preparation: Pranayama calms the mind and focuses attention inward\, promoting deep concentration and inner peace.\nSpiritual Preparation: Both techniques guide energy inward\, away from distractions\, fostering spiritual awakening and deeper self-awareness.\n\nThis balance of movement\, breath control\, and meditation creates harmony and prepares you for a more profound meditation experience \n\n\n\n\n\n\n \nTogether\, energization exercises and pranayama vitalize the body\, calm the mind\, and enhance concentration\, leading to profound spiritual realization. This holistic system transcends physical limitations and helps connect with divine consciousness\, making meditation more effective and spiritually transformative. \nIn-person at the studio or online from the comfort of your home. \nTime: 5:30 – 7:00 PM \nInvestment: $25 per session \nDates: Friday\, 11th October \nBOOK HERE \nNext Session In November TBA \n \n\n\n\n\nRegular practice of combining movement\, pranayama\, and meditation\, offers numerous benefits:\nPhysical Benefits \n\nIncreased energy: Energization exercises boost vitality and prevent sluggishness.\nRelaxation and tension release: Reduces physical tension\, promoting comfort during meditation.\nImproved health: Enhances flexibility\, posture\, and physical resilience.\n\nMental and Emotional Benefits \n\nEnhanced focus: Pranayama calms the mind\, improving concentration and clarity.\nStress reduction: Helps manage anxiety\, especially in high-pressure situations like exams.\nEmotional balance: Increases self-awareness and fosters emotional resilience.\n\nSpiritual Benefits \n\nDeeper meditation: Prepares body and mind for inner stillness and spiritual growth.\nInner awareness: Opens pathways for greater spiritual connection and insight.\n\nOverall\, this holistic practice harmonizes the body\, mind\, and spirit\, helping students excel academically\, stay balanced\, and grow personally and spiritually.

Through active listening\, open sharing\, and a commitment to a non-judgmental atmosphere\, women can gain valuable insights\, clarity\, and a connection with their inner wisdom. Circles enable women to feel seen and heard\, fostering the celebration of successes and mutual support through challenges. \nWhat to Expect in a Women’s Circle?\nAll are welcome to share\, experience\, and enjoy each other’s company within the circle. The leadership is shared\, and everyone agrees to maintain confidentiality\, practice non-judgment\, and embrace open acceptance. Prompted by thought-provoking questions\, participants connect with their feelings and thoughts not immediately apparent. Oracle cards\, arranged in sacred concentric circles\, can be chosen to guide or clarify thoughts and feelings. \n \nInsight from Lucia Broekhuizen\, the Facilitator:\nThrough facilitating women’s circles\, Lucia discovered her power. Despite facing challenges such as mental illness and living abroad for 20 years as a military wife\, she found ways to stay authentic\, especially as a mother of teenagers. Circles became a network where women could express themselves\, be vulnerable\, and celebrate one another. For Lucia\, these circles provided a healing space and nurtured a broader sense of community. The value of circles lies in staying authentic and feeling heard within a supportive network of understanding women\, where every voice is heard\, and each experience is validated.

SUMMARY:Move to Meditate Course
DESCRIPTION:Move to Meditate Sessions\nAre you looking to start a regular meditation practice but don’t know where to begin? Or do you have a meditation practice that you want to deepen?\nOur “Move to Meditate” sessions will help you begin or maintain a meditation practice. Join us in-person at the studio or online from the comfort of your home.   \nThese sessions offer practical techniques to support your mind and guide your body using breath (pranayama)\, focus\, and mantra. Move to Meditate has been designed so that each week builds to develop and strengthen your understanding of meditation. Each session will give you the practical skills to create a lifelong meditation practice. \nWinter naturally encourages introspection and self-reflection\, making it a perfect time to deepen your meditation practice. \nIn Ayurveda\, winter is characterized by the Kapha dosha\, which embodies qualities like coldness\, heaviness\, and stagnation. These attributes can lead to feelings of lethargy\, congestion\, and physical and mental sluggishness. \n\nMovement helps generate internal heat counteracting the cold and heavy qualities of Kapha. Regular movement improves blood flow\, which can strengthen the immune system.\nPranayama (breathing exercises) can enhance lung capacity and efficiency\, aiding in overall respiratory health.\nMeditation practices help clear mental fog and enhance focus\, which can be particularly beneficial during the slower\, more introspective winter months.\n\nIn our supportive and committed community\, you will start each session with energising movements to prime your body for meditation\, ensuring you are relaxed and open. \nJoin us for as many of these sessions as you can to help you develop a regular practice\, and our open\, inquiry-friendly environment encourages you to ask questions and explore deeply as you deepen your understanding of yoga and meditation. \nSign up now and take the first step towards a calmer\, more focused you. \nDates below under each session\nTime: 5:30 – 6:30 pm\nInvestment:  $25  per session\nCourse Breakdown:\n \nWeek 1: 9th August – Yoga Nidra \nA beautiful guided meditation that teaches how to relax your body. SUMMARY:Sound & Life Force
DESCRIPTION:Sound & Life Force Energy – Vayus\nExperience a deeply rejuvenating and transformative journey into the realm of sound and explore the life force energy\, known as the Vayus in Yoga. Led by Tina\, this Restorative Yoga session incorporates Sound & Mantra to enhance your experience.\nThroughout the 2-hour session\, you’ll be guided to explore the intricate workings of the five main Vayus within your body\, each governing specific aspects of energy flow and vitality. Through gentle yoga poses supported by comfortable props\, you’ll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in a meditative state\, allowing Tina’s soothing sounds and guidance to facilitate a profound connection with these subtle energies. \nBy tuning into the Vayus and harmonizing your breath\, you’ll deepen your awareness of the body’s energetic landscape\, fostering balance\, relaxation\, and a sense of inner harmony. Whether you’re seeking physical rejuvenation\, mental clarity\, or spiritual growth\, this class offers a transformative experience that nourishes both body and soul. \nSaturday 15 June\n3 – 5 pm\, $65\nBOOK HERE\n \nA little more about the 5 Vayus: \nVayus” refers to the five main energetic currents or “winds” within the body. These work together to maintain balance and harmony within the body’s energetic system\, influencing both physical and mental well-being. \n\nPrana Vayu: Governs the intake of energy\, including breath and sensory experiences.\nApana Vayu: Manages the downward and outward flow of energy\, including elimination and reproductive functions.\nSamana Vayu: Coordinates digestion and assimilation of nutrients.\nUdana Vayu: Controls upward energy flow\, including speech\, expression\, and mental clarity.\nVyana Vayu: Distributes energy throughout the body\, facilitating movement and coordination.\n\nRestorative yoga is a gentle and nurturing style of yoga that focuses on relaxation and deep rest. In a restorative yoga class we use props such as blankets\, bolsters\, and blocks to support your body in comfortable and passive poses. These poses are held for extended periods\, often several minutes at a time\, allowing the body to completely relax and release tension. \nThe primary goal of restorative yoga is to activate the parasympathetic nervous system\, also known as the “rest and digest” system. By doing so\, it counteracts the effects of stress and promotes relaxation\, healing\, and rejuvenation on both a physical and mental level. \nRestorative yoga is suitable for individuals of all levels and can be particularly beneficial for those recovering from injury\, dealing with chronic pain or illness\, or simply seeking a gentle and restorative practice to balance out a more active lifestyle. \nIntegrating sound and mantra into your yoga practice can greatly enhance the overall experience. The vibrations are powerful tools for deepening focus and concentration\, drawing your awareness inward during practice. \nThe repetition of mantras creates a specific atmosphere; certain sounds and chants calm the nervous system\, promoting relaxation and reducing stress levels. By infusing mantras with personal intention\, you can align your practice with specific goals or values\, fostering a sense of purpose and mindfulness throughout your yoga journey. \n

SUMMARY:Woman's Circle with Lucia
DESCRIPTION:Women’s Circle Gathering\nIn a world filled with distractions\, women are seeking ways to disconnect from their daily lives and connect more deeply with themselves and others. Our Women’s Circle provides a safe space for this connection\, offering a powerful tool for personal growth\, healing\, and transformation.\nWinter welcomes us with a sense of tranquility\, urging us to embrace its gentle pace and quietude. It’s a season that encourages us to slow down\, take a step back\, and reflect on the journey we’ve traveled thus far. \nAs we transition into the winter months\, we are reminded of the importance of letting go. It’s a time to release the weight of old stories and beliefs that no longer serve us\, allowing space for new experiences and perspectives to take root. This act of shedding the old is akin to shedding layers\, revealing our true selves underneath\, unencumbered by past limitations. \nWinter also teaches us the value of self-care and nurturing. Just as nature takes time to rest and replenish its energies\, we too must prioritize our well-being. Whether through moments of solitude in the quietude of winter or engaging in activities that bring us joy and comfort\, taking care of ourselves is essential for our overall growth and happiness. \nIn the soft glow of winter’s twilight\, we find solace and inspiration. The world slows down\, and we can reconnect with our inner rhythm\, syncing with the natural ebb and flow of life. It’s a time to recharge\, gather strength\, and prepare for the coming seasons of growth and change. \nSo\, let us embrace winter wholeheartedly\, embracing its stillness\, beauty\, and lessons. It’s a season that invites us to pause\, reflect\, and recharge\, ultimately guiding us towards a deeper understanding of ourselves and the world around us. \nEvent Details:\nDate: 13 April\nTime: 6 – 8 pm\nLocation: Clayfield Yoga Studio\, cnr Vine Street and Wagner Rd\, Clayfield\nWhat to Expect:\nOur Women’s Circle provides a safe and supportive space to connect\, share experiences\, and support each other’s growth. Bring your authentic selves\, an open heart\, and join us for an unforgettable journey of connection and empowerment! \nInsight from Lucia Broekhuizen\, the Facilitator:\nThrough facilitating women’s circles\, Lucia discovered her own power. The value of circles lies in staying authentic\, feeling heard within a supportive network of understanding women\, where every voice is heard\, and each experience is validated. \nThis session taking place in our winter months will be nurturing a returning back to your centre.   \nWhen: Saturday 1st June 2024\, \nTime: 6 – 8 pm \nCost: $55 \nBOOK HERE

SUMMARY:Sound & Positive Affirmations
DESCRIPTION:Sound and Mantras with the Power of Positive affirmations.\nRepeating affirmations helps to sharpen our focus\, which serves as both a magnifying glass and a magnet. In simpler terms\, what we focus on expands in our lives.\nEvery thought we have shapes our future. The point of power resides in the present moment. Repeating positive affirmations with your full attention nurtures feelings of self-love. \nWhen we embrace self-approval and self-acceptance\, we unlock more keys to positive change. We perpetuate a cycle where good thoughts lead to good outcomes\, which in turn fosters more positive thinking. \nWhen we genuinely love ourselves\, everything naturally falls into place. \nOur thoughts can sway either way in every situation. Regularly practising affirmations keeps the mind actively seeking the good in every moment\, with every person\, even in the weather or traffic jams. \nLife is genuinely simple: what we give out\, we get back. \n\nPositive thoughts align your mind\nRestorative poses unwind your body\nSound and Mantras can influence our emotional and energetic states\, promoting relaxation\, balance\, and well-being.\n\nRestorative yoga is a gentle yet powerful practice focused on relaxation and renewal. By resting on props\, you can lean into support\, allowing deep breathing to release tension\, calm the mind\, and restore balance to your body and spirit. \nSound and mantra can impact our energy levels\, influencing both our emotions and our overall energetic state. By doing so\, they promote relaxation\, balance\, and a profound sense of well-being. \nTina personally overcame her negative thinking by combining these powerful practices. There’s no need to rush through your sun salutations.  Participants are encouraged to rest whenever necessary. This community event encourages mutual support as we navigate our individual paths with each repetition. \nYour hosts Tanya and Lucia\, will guide the practice at a suggested pace that you can either move with or connect to your own rhythm. Rest and rejoining the flow as needed. Whether you are moving or taking a break in silence\, the session cultivates collective mindfulness beyond the physical\, creating a powerful community bond. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBook in here:\n\n\n$40 – includes vegetarian lunch and a cooling drink. The flowing movements and dynamic nature of the sequence help increase blood circulation\, warm up the muscles\, and loosen the joints.\nEnergizing body and mind: The Sun Salutations are often practiced in the morning or at the beginning of a yoga class to help awaken and energize the body and mind. The combination of movement\, breath\, and stretching helps invigorate the entire system and create a sense of vitality.\nPhysical and Mental Flexibility and Strength: The Sun Salutations involve a variety of poses that work on different areas of the body\, including the legs\, arms\, core\, and spine. Regular Sun Salutation practice can improve flexibility\, build strength\, and increase body awareness.\nMeditation in Motion: The flowing nature of the Sun Salutations can create a meditative state of mind. SUMMARY:Sound Bath & Chakras
DESCRIPTION:Sound and The Energy Centres – Chakras\nJoin Tina for a rejuvenating two-hour Yoga session that integrates the transformative elements of Sound and Mantra to elevate your experience. \nIn this class\, the primary focus is on the body’s energy centers known as Chakras. These Chakras play a crucial role in regulating various bodily functions\, including organ activities\, immune system functioning\, and emotional well-being. Achieving balance in these energy centers is the key to optimizing both mental and physical health. \nThe term “Chakra” originates from the Sanskrit word for “wheel.” In spiritual contexts\, Chakras are described as energetic wheels spinning throughout the body. While there are numerous Chakras within and around the body\, our attention will be directed towards the seven main Chakras extending from the base of the spine to the crown of the head. \nThe session incorporates sound healing and meditative practices\, leveraging the potency of sound to align the body’s frequencies with its innate vibrational state\, thereby promoting overall well-being. Each Chakra is associated with a specific bija mantra\, a sacred sound that aids in connecting with the vibrational energies of both our bodies and the universe. Tina will employ various sound instruments\, such as chimes and sound bowls\, along with her voice to intone these mantras\, fostering relaxation and realignment within the body. \nWhether you are a beginner or seeking more guidance\, reaching out to the studio beforehand can be beneficial in understanding what to expect from these sessions. Embrace this opportunity to embark on a holistic journey towards balance and tranquility. \nDay: Saturday 24 Feb\nTime: 3 – 5 pm\nCost: $65\nBOOK HERE\nIf you like these sessions teacher Tina is running a few more with different themes \n\nSound & Positive Affirmations \n\n\nSound & Life Force

DESCRIPTION:Learn the FUNdamentals of a Vinyasa Flow\nWhether you’re just starting your yoga journey or looking to enhance your existing experience\, enrolling in this course will boost your overall body strength and flexibility while bringing clarity to your mind. \nIf you are not yet familiar with term Vinyasa\, it means moving between postures (asanas) in coordination with breath. Variations have been taken from a sequence known as Surya Namaskar or Sun Salutation. \nThis course is suitable for beginners as one needs to break it down before they can flow freely.   \nSurya Namaskar\, which translates to Salutations to the Sun\, is a transformative yoga sequence that facilitates the opening of hips and spine while strengthening shoulders\, arms\, core\, and legs. The benefits of each posture are heightened when synchronised with your breath\, fostering increased awareness of your body\, thoughts\, and emotions. \nMany variations are taught today by adapting the sequence to suit the individual. Moving slowly and steadily is ideal for beginners or students seeking a more gentle\, calming flow. Alternatively\, synchronise each movement with a breath for a more dynamic and energising practice. \n \nDuring this course\, your teachers will break down the more common poses taught in classes so you can create your sequence and feel confident in group classes. \nOverview of the course: \n\nWeek 1: Tadasana\, Urdhva Hastasana\, and Plank Variations. (15th Feb or 17th Feb) \nWeek 2: Uttanasana\, Low and High Lunge\, Warrior 1\, 2\, and 3. (22nd Feb or 24th Feb) \nWeek 3: Sphinx\, Cobra\, Upward-Facing Dog\, and Downward-Facing Dog. Whether you complete just one flow or the entire 108\, remember that this challenge is a personal journey within ourselves.\nIntroducing the Sun Salutation Challenge.\nBecome the Tortoise not the Hare….we all do our own practice\, just together as a group under the guidance of teachers Tanya and Lucia. \nFor those new to yoga\, Tanya and Lucia have set up the four-week course designed to teach you the fundamentals and offer variations tailored to your body’s needs so that you feel prepared for this challenge. Feel free to rest at any time and rejoin at your own pace\, granting yourself the permission to honour your own needs. \nThis challenge is a unique blend of personal exploration within the shared experience of 108. In a supportive environment\, each participant contributes to one another’s journey.  We all hold a supported space for each other. This fosters collective mindfulness that extends beyond the physical practice\, creating a powerful commUNITY bond\, whether you’re in motion or at rest. \nWhy learn the Sun Salutations? Sun Salutations are practiced for several reasons in most yoga classes: \n\nA Great Warm-up: Sun Salutations are an excellent way to warm up the body and prepare it for the rest of the yoga practice. By focusing on the breath and the movement\, practitioners can enter a state of moving meditation\, where the mind becomes calm and centered.\n\nSun Salutations are a foundational yoga practice offering numerous physical\, mental\, and energetic benefits. They provide a balanced and holistic practice that prepares the body and mind for deeper yoga poses and meditation exploration. \nChallenge your practice; Saturday 16th March @ 10:30 am.  We will share a vegetarian lunch at the end to celebrate our wins.  \n\nCourse + Yoga Challenge: $150 \nBook in before 14th Feb as lunch is included. \nNo experience necessary\, work at your own pace.

She temporarily paused her teaching journey when her twins arrived in early 2017. Teaching yoga fills her heart with joy and offers her a chance to give back to the yoga community. \nIn 2006\, Bronwyn discovered yoga as a way to find balance amid the demands of her corporate job. As her yoga journey unfolded\, she unearthed the benefits it brings not only to the body but also to the mind. \nWith a natural inclination to rush through life’s busyness\, Bronwyn uses mindfulness and yoga to regain her equilibrium. These practices usher peace and tranquility into her daily life. \nBalancing her role in human resources at the Royal Flying Doctor Service and being a mother to three active young boys\, Bronwyn finds solace in her love for food\, adventure\, and the great outdoors\, cherishing moments with friends and family. \nWe are thrilled to have Bronwyn’s beautiful energy back at Clayfield Yoga Studio\, where she continues to share her passion for yoga and the restorative power of essential oils.
