SUMMARY:Sound Bath & Chakras
DESCRIPTION:Sound and The Energy Centres – Chakras\nJoin Tina for a rejuvenating two-hour Yoga session that integrates the transformative elements of Sound and Mantra to elevate your experience. \nIn this class\, the primary focus is on the body’s energy centers known as Chakras. These Chakras play a crucial role in regulating various bodily functions\, including organ activities\, immune system functioning\, and emotional well-being. Achieving balance in these energy centers is the key to optimizing both mental and physical health. \nThe term “Chakra” originates from the Sanskrit word for “wheel.” In spiritual contexts\, Chakras are described as energetic wheels spinning throughout the body. While there are numerous Chakras within and around the body\, our attention will be directed towards the seven main Chakras extending from the base of the spine to the crown of the head. \nThe session incorporates sound healing and meditative practices\, leveraging the potency of sound to align the body’s frequencies with its innate vibrational state\, thereby promoting overall well-being. Each Chakra is associated with a specific bija mantra\, a sacred sound that aids in connecting with the vibrational energies of both our bodies and the universe. Tina will employ various sound instruments\, such as chimes and sound bowls\, along with her voice to intone these mantras\, fostering relaxation and realignment within the body. \nWhether you are a beginner or seeking more guidance\, reaching out to the studio beforehand can be beneficial in understanding what to expect from these sessions. Embrace this opportunity to embark on a holistic journey towards balance and tranquility. \nDay: Saturday 24 Feb\nTime: 3 – 5 pm\nCost: $65\nBOOK HERE\nIf you like these sessions teacher Tina is running a few more with different themes \n\nSound & Positive Affirmations \n\n\nSound & Life Force

SUMMARY:Yoga Course
DESCRIPTION:Learn the FUNdamentals of a Vinyasa Flow\nWhether you’re just starting your yoga journey or looking to enhance your existing experience\, enrolling in this course will boost your overall body strength and flexibility while bringing clarity to your mind. \nIf you are not yet familiar with term Vinyasa\, it means moving between postures (asanas) in coordination with breath. Variations have been taken from a sequence known as Surya Namaskar or Sun Salutation. \nThis course is suitable for beginners as one needs to break it down before they can flow freely.   \nSurya Namaskar\, which translates to Salutations to the Sun\, is a transformative yoga sequence that facilitates the opening of hips and spine while strengthening shoulders\, arms\, core\, and legs. The benefits of each posture are heightened when synchronised with your breath\, fostering increased awareness of your body\, thoughts\, and emotions. \nMany variations are taught today by adapting the sequence to suit the individual. Moving slowly and steadily is ideal for beginners or students seeking a more gentle\, calming flow. Alternatively\, synchronise each movement with a breath for a more dynamic and energising practice. \n \nDuring this course\, your teachers will break down the more common poses taught in classes so you can create your sequence and feel confident in group classes. \nOverview of the course: \n\nWeek 1: Tadasana\, Urdhva Hastasana\, and Plank Variations. (15th Feb or 17th Feb) \nWeek 2: Uttanasana\, Low and High Lunge\, Warrior 1\, 2\, and 3. (22nd Feb or 24th Feb) \nWeek 3: Sphinx\, Cobra\, Upward-Facing Dog\, and Downward-Facing Dog. (29th Feb or 2nd March) \nWeek 4: Moving with Breath. (7th March or 9th March) \nWeek 5: 108 Sun Salutation (optional but encouraged Challenge) –  (16th March) Move smoothly and steadily in a supported environment\, with individual pauses for rest encouraged\, making it suitable for all levels. and you can decide once you complete week 4.\n\nCourse Details: choose which date works best for you.  \n\nCourse Only: $120 (till 12th Feb /$160 from 13 Feb)\n\nThursday’s – Date: 15th Feb 10:45 am OR (BOOK HERE)\nSaturday’s – Date: 17th Feb 10:30 am  (BOOK HERE)\n\n\n\nChallenge your practice:\n\nBOOK HERE – Course + Yoga Challenge: $150 (till 14th Feb) \n\nRead more about challenge below.\n\n\n\n\nOPTIONAL WEEK 5 CHALLENGE \nFor any students wanting to take their course to the next level… and before you you say no way read on…  \nSun Salutations are a meditative and transformative practice\, often done during special occasions or to mark new beginnings. Whether you complete just one flow or the entire 108\, remember that this challenge is a personal journey within ourselves.\nIntroducing the Sun Salutation Challenge.\nBecome the Tortoise not the Hare….we all do our own practice\, just together as a group under the guidance of teachers Tanya and Lucia. \nFor those new to yoga\, Tanya and Lucia have set up the four-week course designed to teach you the fundamentals and offer variations tailored to your body’s needs so that you feel prepared for this challenge. Feel free to rest at any time and rejoin at your own pace\, granting yourself the permission to honour your own needs. \nThis challenge is a unique blend of personal exploration within the shared experience of 108. In a supportive environment\, each participant contributes to one another’s journey.  We all hold a supported space for each other. This fosters collective mindfulness that extends beyond the physical practice\, creating a powerful commUNITY bond\, whether you’re in motion or at rest. \nWhy learn the Sun Salutations? Sun Salutations are practiced for several reasons in most yoga classes: \n\nA Great Warm-up: Sun Salutations are an excellent way to warm up the body and prepare it for the rest of the yoga practice. The flowing movements and dynamic nature of the sequence help increase blood circulation\, warm up the muscles\, and loosen the joints.\nEnergizing body and mind: The Sun Salutations are often practiced in the morning or at the beginning of a yoga class to help awaken and energize the body and mind. The combination of movement\, breath\, and stretching helps invigorate the entire system and create a sense of vitality.\nPhysical and Mental Flexibility and Strength: The Sun Salutations involve a variety of poses that work on different areas of the body\, including the legs\, arms\, core\, and spine. Regular Sun Salutation practice can improve flexibility\, build strength\, and increase body awareness.\nMeditation in Motion: The flowing nature of the Sun Salutations can create a meditative state of mind. By focusing on the breath and the movement\, practitioners can enter a state of moving meditation\, where the mind becomes calm and centered.\n\nSun Salutations are a foundational yoga practice offering numerous physical\, mental\, and energetic benefits. They provide a balanced and holistic practice that prepares the body and mind for deeper yoga poses and meditation exploration. \nChallenge your practice; Saturday 16th March @ 10:30 am.  We will share a vegetarian lunch at the end to celebrate our wins.  \n\nCourse + Yoga Challenge: $150 \nBook in before 14th Feb as lunch is included. \nNo experience necessary\, work at your own pace.

SUMMARY:Women's Circle - Nuture
DESCRIPTION:Women’s Circle – Nurture\n \nA Women’s Circle is a time to reflect on life and look to the future.\nThe bombardment of technology & life’s distractions pulls us far from checking in with ourselves. Seeking ways to reconnect\, women come together to be present and supportive\, holding a non-judgemental and accepting space for each other to have a moment to think & feel\, acknowledge challenges\, and celebrate successes. \nWe slow down & and consider the theme of the Circle. Prompted by questions from the facilitator\, each person has their turn to share their thoughts & feelings in a space where you are heard. Inquiries may be thought-provoking\, responses arise subconsciously\, or clarify what the mind has already considered and can be expressed without fear of judgment. \nThrough active listening\, open sharing\, and a commitment from each other\, Circle gatherings create a welcoming environment where women can gain valuable insights\, clarity\, and a relationship with inner wisdom from which to grow & transform. \nNext Date: Sat\, 20 May – Nurture \nTime: 6:30 – 8:30 pm\nInvestment: $45\nBOOK IN HERE\n \nWinter provides an opportune time to gather with other women in a supportive and nurturing environment through Women’s Circles. Doing so allows you to care for yourself and provide a space for others to connect with their inner selves. The season’s cooler temperatures and shorter days are an invitation to rest and replenish\, and honoring and flowing with the natural rhythm of the season can positively and powerfully contribute to our well-being. \nSlowing down and embracing a greater sense of ease and contentment is ideal during this time\, enabling you to pause and find stillness in both body and mind. Cultivating mindfulness and allowing time for introspection and contemplation can enhance self-awareness and self-acceptance. \nThrough Circle\, you can take the time to understand and honor what you need to achieve a healthy and balanced life\, promoting harmony in body\, mind\, and spirit. Recognising and appreciating how you practice self-care can lead to a deeper understanding of yourself.  \nImagine if you could take time out to hibernate and separate yourself from societal pressures to constantly be productive or busy? Imagine how refreshed you would feel once spring comes knocking on your door. This woman’s Circle will be a chance to appreciate moments of seclusion\, get comfortable and unwind\, and delve into profound contemplation\, gaining precious insights into our authentic selves. \nA note from your Facilitator Lucia Broekhuizen\n \nFrom facilitating women’s circles\, Lucia discovered her own power. Living with mental illness and 20 years abroad as a military wife\, she was always distant from family and close friends. As a mum with teenagers\, Lucia has ways to support herself to stay authentic. \nCircles are a network where all women can express themselves\, be vulnerable\, and be celebrated. Sharing and being heard with other women allowed Lucia to heal and be nurtured by a more extensive community. These circles allow all to be heard\, and what arises is validated.

You are also feeding trillions of micro-organisms (bacteria\, fungi and viruses) that live in your gut.\nThese bugs actually help you to function. The catch is – you must fuel them in the right way and keep them happy and healthy. If you keep them happy and healthy\, they will do the exact same thing for you! \n\nThe secret to a healthy gut microbiota (the trillions of bugs living in your gut) is their diversity and balance. \nIf we aren’t feeding out gut bugs what they need to flourish\, it can cause an imbalance and the“bad” (pathogenic) bugs takeover and rule the roost. The result? Your body may be more\nsusceptible to disease. \nYour diet plays a large part in what bugs live in your gut. An imbalance can occur within only a few days of eating poorly! \n \nBloating or feeling uncomfortable in the gut is a problem faced by many. In many circumstances\, we simply can’t put it down to one food as it is far more complex than that. Have you ever considered what your dietary pattern looks like? What foods and drinks do you commonly eat and drink? Join Tanya Zappala for a journey through your digestion system. \nTwisting and stretching your body improves blood flow to the digestive organs\, helping to enhance their function.\nCertain yoga poses can stimulate the digestive organs\, including the stomach\, liver\, pancreas\, and intestines\, helping to improve digestion and absorption of nutrients. \nStress negatively impacts the digestive system by slowing digestion and causing discomfort. Regular practice of Belly or Diaphragmatic breathing practice helps reduce stress and anxiety. \nYoga postures can help to improve flexibility and range of motion in the body\, including the muscles directly impacting your digestive system. Increasing movement range can help reduce digestive discomfort. \nYoga encourages mindfulness and can help individuals become more aware of their eating habits. Mindful eating is slowing down and paying attention to the sensory experience\, including food’s taste\, smell\, and texture. Chewing well increases your salivary enzymes; breaking down your food properly in your mouth takes the pressure off the rest of your digestive system. \nPractising yoga can help to promote a healthy digestive system by improving circulation\, stimulating the digestive organs\, reducing stress\, increasing flexibility\, and encouraging mindful eating. Once grounded\, hear Nutritionist Steph Polson share some excellent tips on improving your gut health for overall health. \nBOOK IN HERE\n \nWhat is digestion?\nDigestion is the process our body uses to break food down into small water-soluble molecules that can be absorbed into the bloodstream. The substances we absorb from our food include vitamins\, minerals\, fats\, carbohydrates and proteins. These are used by our body for energy\, growth and repair. \nWhere does digestion begin?\nThe process of digestion starts at the mouth. Food is broken down through chewing and the digestive enzymes in saliva.  From the stomach\, food is squeezed into the small intestine. Here\, the digestive enzymes from the pancreas and bile from the liver and gall bladder neutralise the stomach acid and continue to break down the food. As the food passes through the lower end of the small intestine\, the nutrients are absorbed through the lining of the intestine and into a fine mesh of tiny blood vessels. What’s left of the food passes into the large intestine\, also called the bowel\, where only water is absorbed from it. \nSome yoga postures apply pressure or compression on the digestive organs; other postures apply a stretch. These changes in pressure improve circulation\, bringing an increased flow of fresh blood to the organs to enhance their natural function. \nAdditionally\, these movements work to move food efficiently through the digestive tract. Twisting poses are often used with this intent\, moving food along to relieve constipation. \nMovement of the diaphragm during breathing exercises also helps massage and mobilize the digestive organs but most importantly belly or diaphragmatic breathing helps to Reduce stress. Chronic stress can negatively impact digestion and enzyme production. Manage your stress through exercise\, meditation\, and deep breathing. \n\nYoga inversions are a great tool for improving your gut health. When in an inverted position\, the weight from other organs is removed from the bowel. This change may allow waste products to move more freely along the tract.Yoga inversions for digestion include poses that invert the torso rather than just the legs. \nBOOK IN HERE\n

The shoulder is a flexible joint often uncomfortably bound by tight and dysfunctional overlying muscles. The neck and shoulders are vulnerable to stress. They are also slow to recover from the strain of being misaligned during weight bearing or poor posture sitting for long periods. It isn’t hard to manage shoulder pain with simple technical adjustments. A little knowledge about the anatomy and biomechanics of the shoulder is essential to prevent and recover from injuries” – Tam \n– Tamara James has been a Physiotherapist and teacher of yoga teachers for over 24 years. \n

SUMMARY:Happy Hips for Beginners
DESCRIPTION:How to have Happy Hips – with Alana Wagner\nCome along to all 4 classes or just drop in\nWorking on your hips and pelvis is essential when finding steadiness and strength in yoga poses and general functional movements in your day-to-day activities. \nEach week will include elements of yoga philosophy and spirituality\, as well as accessible ways to incorporate mindfulness and relaxation into your day-to-day life. \n \n🔸7th Feb\, Week 1: – An introduction to yoga fundamentals – feel how your body moves\, notice how you breathe and explore the range of movement available specifically in the hips and pelvis.  \n🔸14th Feb\, Week 2: Hamstrings and Hip flexors – using props to find release and building awareness of ‘good’ stretching. \n🔸21 Feb\, Week 3: Core and Glutes – strengthening and stabilising in standing postures (lunges and balances).  \n🔸28th Feb\, Week 4: Yin for Hips – long deep holds to stretch and nurture hips and associated muscle groups. \nWhether you are brand new to yoga or want to strip back your practice; these classes invite you to explore a holistic approach to helping your hips release stiffness\, tension and discomfort caused by minimal physical movement (lots of sitting) and stored emotions.     \nEach session will be an invitation to take a closer look within yourself to observe;  how you feel in your body;  \n\nhow you are breathing; \nwhere your mind is wandering or focusing on; \nwhat is essential at our core; \nand what makes your heart happy. \n\nAs everybody needs something different\nAlana will help you awaken your inner teacher. There are various ways to find what works best for your body\, mind and heart in each yoga posture. \nLearning good physical alignment helps avoid common problems as you build on your body’s capabilities and keep your mind in a happy place despite the arising challenges.  \nBreath work (pranayama) is one of your practice’s most vital aspects. When you connect to your breath\, you link to a  \nsource of inner calmness and stillness. Your breath is the thread that ties our yoga practice together. Harmonising your body and mind via each inhale and exhale rhythm. Breath-work enhances the connection to the deep pelvic region of your Mula Bandha (root energy lock or pelvic floor muscle activation). Engagement of your Mula Banda helps build stability within your pelvis and awareness of your range of movement.   \nBuild stability around your hips and pelvis by strengthening and stretching hip flexors\, hamstrings\, glutes\, and core. Alana will show you have to use a variety of props to assist (stretching bands\, rolling balls\, blocks\, straps\, etc.). Stability is essential when finding steadiness and strength in your functional movements in day-to-day activities\, supporting better posture\, balance\, and freedom of movement.  \nMoments of mindfulness and meditation whilst weaving in a few fundamental concepts of yoga philosophy. These more inward practices can all be shaped and applied to this modern day and in a way that resonates with whatever feels most natural to you\, that which lights you up inside. \nOnce stability has been created\, in the following classes\, Alana will guide you through a series of commonly practiced postures traditionally called Sun Salutations in Yoga.   \nDrop-ins are welcome to any of the sessions. \nWhen: 7th\, 14th\, 21st\, 28th February. \nTime: 7 – 8:30 pm \nCost:  $95 for 4 classes / $30 for drop in \nBOOKINGS OPEN

SUMMARY:YogaPhysio Front Body Opening
DESCRIPTION:Opening your Front Body is a gentle way to strengthen your Back Body.  \nWhen we spend a lot of our time nowadays in chairs\, we start to look like chairs. \nLong periods of sitting affects your posture by shortening your hip flexors and slumping your shoulders forward. Not attended to can lead to an increased thoracic kyphosis (rounded upper back) from weakened back muscles and tight pectoral muscles curving your spine.  \nBack-bending classes are great to help counter these postural tendencies\, but they can be a little too strong\, especially if you are new to yoga.   \nIn this workshop\, you will explore gentle ‘front opening’ positions that are more accessible for everyone. An excellent practical workshop that you will leave 2cm taller!! \nThis workshop will benefit everybody.\nMainly if you are desk-bound\, drive heaps\, or spend extended periods on your smart devices. You may already experience messages in your body like neck pain\, back pain\, or even hip pain. If you do\, this extended practice will explore all the postures that reverse these occupational tendencies in an educational and experiential workshop. \nTamara will finish with a long\, relaxing Yoga Nidra (a guided relaxation practice) to rest and digest the session and relax the most overactive muscle of all – the mind. \nFor teachers attending the workshop\, you will be training your eye to notice your students’ bodies to better cater for their needs in your classes. \nWhen: SUNDAY 23rd Oct\nTime: 1 – 4pm \nCost: $75\n BOOK IN HERE\n \nTam is a qualified and registered physiotherapist since 1994. SUMMARY:Winter Solstice Flow to Restore
DESCRIPTION:WINTER SOLSTICE FLOW & RESTORE\nWinter Solstice Flow & Restore is a workshop intended to guide you from the everyday challenges of life into a relaxed\, calm space\, & from contraction to rejuvenation.\nThroughout history winter solstice – the shortest day of the year – has been a significant time of year in many cultures\, and has been marked by festivals and rituals. \nThe term solstice actually means ‘sun standing still”. From here onwards the days gradually become lighter until the summer solstice – the longest day of the year – then the cycle begins again.  \nFLOW: We begin with a reclined mediation\, then a flow of mindful breath. From this centred place\, your slow flow will incorporate postures chosen to release the tension you may be holding in your body. Not only will you ground\, centre & balance\, but increase mobility.  \nRESTORE: The second part of the experience is in deep relaxation with longer held\, supported postures to help repair and restore your entire system\, & of course a deliciously generous Savasana. From this place of rejuvenation\, you are then open to flourishing. \nSaturday\, June 18th\, 2 – 4 pm\nEarly-bird $44 to June 10\, or $55 afterwards (incl. gst)\nSaturday 18th June\nTime: 2 – 4 pm\nBOOK YOUR SPOT HERE \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKylie shares that her Slow Flow Yoga Class will be similar to\, though much more relaxed than a vinyasa sequence.\nIt will incorporate the same linking of asana (the postures) & steady style of breath to pace transitions\, with way less intensity.\n\nWhen the breath & asana are linked there is a flowing effect\, riding waves of breath while moving in and out of each asana.\nWhen breath initiates the movement we can receive deep physiological stress reduction.\nThe workshop will continue into restorative yoga\, the ideal practice to go deeper still

SUMMARY:Mindful Movements: 7 May
DESCRIPTION:Mindful Movements \n– The Path of Change \nThis workshop acknowledges that change is a fundamental element of consciousness.  Growth always takes place within the transitional moments when we move mindfully with our breath to support the changing environment within and around us. Weaving in the water element from the Sacral chakra to help students tune into the rhythm of going with the flow. \nSurya Namaskar is a sequence of yoga postures also known as Sun Salutes. It is designed to center you in your heart\, focus your mind\, and energize your body to give you strength.  As you find your flow with your practice your mind becomes clear and your focus is enhanced. Part of growth is knowing how to adapt to overcome. Your teachers Tanya and Nicole will offer variations to postures\, and any other adjustments required to keep you feel comfortable and supported. \nThese offerings are available to everybody. No prior experience is needed. All are welcome. \nPlease message us if you have any further questions about the suitability of our workshops. We hope you can join Tanya and Nicole on this beautiful and very special transformational journey. \nDates: 7 May\, 2022 \nTime for each workshop: Saturdays\, 11 am – 2:30 pm (mini-break with refreshments included) \nInvestment: Book in by 2 May and save: $80 early bird |$96 thereafter. \nPayments made into account details below:- \nAccount Name:- KaseyVan Trust – Willow Yoga \nBSB: 034 086 \nAcc:  295588 \nDescription: (Your Name) \n \nTanya and Nicole are both senior teachers. Drawing on their different strengths and experiences to create a balanced approach to yoga in this workshops series. Tanya\, the more Yang part of this team\, will emphasise alignment\, anatomy\, and the science behind the yogic principles. Nicole’s more Yin side will weave in mindfulness\, embodiment\, philosophy\, and empowering students to make the practice their own.  \nTogether these two experienced teachers know the importance of creating a safe container\, holding space for each student to become curious\, explore and grow in this transformational journey. This is not a teacher training\, but instead will focus on the purpose of which this practice is intended\, to be a  journey of discovery\, direction\, meaning\, and purpose – a process of external and internal transformation – on and off your mat. \nMove from doing yoga to weaving yoga as a living practice.
