Suitable for complete beginners and those looking to deepen or modify their inversion practice.

Practicing inversions offers a wide range of physical, mental, and emotional benefits, even for beginners. They build strength in the core, shoulders, and arms while improving balance, flexibility, and body awareness. Being upside down stimulates circulation and lymphatic flow, supports spinal health, and can calm the nervous system.

Mentally, inversions help sharpen focus, build confidence, and shift perspective—offering a sense of empowerment as you face fears and learn to trust yourself.

Whether you’re practicing with inversion stools or working toward handstands, regular inversion practice can enhance your overall well-being.

What You’ll Learn:

We begin with the foundations—core activation, shoulder stability, breath awareness, and alignment—before gradually introducing techniques for headstands and handstands in a safe and supported way.

Expect a warm, team-focused environment with plenty of encouragement and communication. Whether you’re taking your first steps upside down or returning to inversions with new goals or limitations, this series is designed to meet you exactly where you are.

The Practice:

The asana sequence is inspired by Shri Dharma Mittra’s Shiva Namaskara, integrated with Anusara Yoga’s alignment principles, and enhanced with gymnastic-style drills that build control, confidence, and dynamic strength.

Experience a full-body practice designed to support sustainable, empowering inversion work for the long term.

About Your Teacher:

She first encountered this powerful and playful sequence during her AcroYoga Teacher Training in 2008, where she discovered how yoga, therapeutics, and acrobatics can come together to empower everybody. Tanya teaches from experience, with warmth and clarity—creating a safe space where students feel held, seen, and supported.
