Your Yoga practice starts with listening to your body (your internal teacher) and working to whatever limitations are presenting themselves each time you practice. We offer a variety of classes to give you a choice of either a strong flowing class or something slower with more time for a deeper stretch. Having a combination of the two during the week will help to bring you back to balance. If you have never done yoga before then it is recommended to start with any of the Slow Deep Stretch, Yin Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Rest and Restore classes.

For those new to Yoga please note that the Classes below are listed in order from a gentle deep stretch, to a stronger advanced practice.

FLOW TO RESTORE

Flow to Restore is a mixed class starting with gentle movements designed to warm and unwind. It also includes postures supported by bolsters, blankets, and blocks that promote deep relaxation and rejuvenates the nervous system for deeper release of your muscles and rest for your mind.  This meditative practice cultivates a necessary balance between body and mind while dissolving physical and mental tension. Expect to leave feeling delightfully relaxed, renewed, and restored

Suitable for students new to Yoga, mature aged, or those after a slower paced restorative class.

SLOW DEEP STRETCH

Slowing down the flow can help you maintain control of your breath, build determination, and intensify your practice.  A smooth linking of unhurried breath with movement, intensified by mindfully holding postures for several breaths, awakening your body and clearing your mind.  Explore the details of each posture at a comfortable pace to allow your body to deepen into a stretch or pause in a strength-building pose. This helps to gain strength and increased mobility.  Get into the rhythm of this truly invigorating class and find true balance in this moving meditation.

Suitable for students new to Yoga, mature aged, or those after a slower paced class. You don’t have to be a beginner to benefit from the slow gentle movements.

YIN YOGA

Yin Yoga postures (asanas) are held for slightly longer periods than the other classes targeting the connective tissue of the hips, pelvis and lower spine as well as the connective tissues surrounding the muscles and joints for a greater increase of blood flow to nourish and rejuvenate. When your body stops moving the muscles, even the mind can relax. A perfect balance to the stronger (yang) practices or fast-paced lifestyles. Slowing down we pay more attention – preventing physical and mental exhaustion. A complimentary class for all athletes or anyone with tight sore bodies. Expect deep hip, back and leg openings with longer holds to gain strength and increased mobility.

Suitable for students new to Yoga, mature aged, or those after a slower paced class. Perfect if you know your body is tight or do a lot of strength work.

SLOW FLOW

Taking our popular Vinyasa flow and slowing things down.  Still the lovely synchronicity of movement with breath that helps to generate warmth into our bodies, but slowed down to savour and explore the benefits of each posture.  These classes are gently energising, while building strength and flexibility.  Suitable for all levels with variations and modifications offered throughout the class to support those newer to this style.

Some Yoga experience is ideal but students that are comfortable and confident to self-adjust their own practice would be able to attend this class.

HATHA FLOW

A more traditional yoga practice that leans towards longer holds. A moderate flow with some stillness between poses for integration. Some Pranayama (breath work), meditation and Bandhas (locks) may be included. This class is conditioning and strengthening whilst creative and playful, aiming to bring balance to mind, body, and soul.

Suitable for students new to Yoga, mature aged, or those after a slower paced but strength building class.
