7 week Beginners Yoga Course
Yoga is a fast growing form of exercise that compliments our lives. More and more evidence is proving how mental health is just as important as physical health. Yoga is as much a personal inquiry and self exploration as it is to learning how to be physically stronger and flexible. This course will give you practical tools to adjust this practice to suit your needs. It does not matter if you are an absolute newcomer or looking to learn more, our senior teachers have the experience to support you on your journey.
You will be guide you to a deeper understanding of what to feel in your yoga postures. Learn how you can self adjust to make your practice stronger or more gentle depending on what you need in the moment.
Each sessions will provide you with concepts and cues to breakdown poses. You will get to explore and experiment with what is the best way to practice for Your body. The more you know how to self adjust your posture to suit your daily needs the easier and quicker it becomes to progress into stronger postures safely and with confidence. Knowing how to modify will help you accomodate any injuries or support those little niggles that come with age or lack of movement.
This course is designed to progress. The first week will start off with movements to prepare your body and your awareness. The under-rated, over-looked joint rotations are the foundations of any movement. Regular rotation of our bodies joints is one of the most effective ways to remove stagnation (acidic toxins), increase circulation, and improve flexibility in our muscular system. These simple yet effective exercises help to reduce the onset of painful joints by removing the stiffness accumulated over night from sleeping or daily if our bodies have been stationery or inactive, even in repetitive work where some parts of body do not move very much at all.
The following weeks will move through other foundational postures from Standing and Balance (which gets lost as we age) Core and seated poses, Forward folds, Backbends, Twists, and finish with Arm balance and Inversions that even your grandma can do. I kid you not, there is an inversion for every body and we look forward in showing you.
Course is commencing Saturday 3rd February, 2018.
This 7 week program is offering 5x classes per week. We allow students to attend any of these classes for no extra cost. Whether you come make it once or 5 times, over the 7 weeks we will progressively help you build confidence and knowledge for a solid foundation in the yoga postures. All teachers are all fully qualified and highly trained. We will help you adjust the practice to suit you as we recognise how different and unique we all are and therefore will not make you feel like you have to fit into.
