| $85Better Balance
Have you ever found yoga confusing, rushed, or hard on your body? Join teacher Tanya Zappala with over 30 years of experience to explore how to begin or improve your yoga practice.
You’ll encounter postures from the Sun Salute (Surya Namaskar) sequence slowed down and explained in detail — especially great for beginners

Workshop: Sunday 1st February 2026
Time: 1:30 – 4:30 pm.
This workshop is a learning experience to start or improve your knowing about common yoga postures .
We’ll go right back to basics to build a stronger foundation. Each posture will be broken down, with guidance on alignment, safe transitions, and practical adaptations so you can move with more confidence and ease.
Alongside the physical practice, the session will include breathing practices to help bring calm and focus, as well as guided meditation. In yoga, meditation is considered the ultimate goal — and learning how to steady the mind is just as important as learning the poses.
We all want strong, healthy bodies, but it’s a happy, healthy mind that allows us to truly enjoy life. Developing a calm, steady mind is essential in creating a strong, steady yoga practice, and this workshop series offers space to explore both.

What we’ll explore:
- The foundational postures that make up Surya Namaskar A & B
- How to transition between poses safely and smoothly
- Adaptations for common injuries and areas of limited strength or flexibility
- How to modify or skip parts of the sequence with confidence
- Breathing practices to support calm, focus, and ease
- Guided meditation and deep rest
- Plenty of time for questions and discussion
This workshop series is ideal for:
- Absolute beginners
- Students who feel rushed or unsure in flow classes
- Anyone returning to yoga after injury or time away
- Those wanting to practise with greater awareness and confidence
No previous yoga experience or flexibility is required. All movements are taught with options, and rest is always encouraged. Mats and props are provided.
Cost: $85
If you’re seeking not just a stronger body, but a calmer, steadier mind, this workshop series is a wonderful place to begin.

About Tanya
Tanya’s approach to yoga is grounded in the understanding that yoga is a lifelong practice — one that reveals its deeper benefits through patience, curiosity, and consistency. Her teaching is inspired by the balance of Sthira and Sukha: cultivating strength and steadiness while remaining comfortable, easeful, and responsive in both body and mind.
Having undertaken a wide range of yoga teacher trainings since beginning her yoga journey in 1990, Tanya brings a depth of experience to her classes, with a strong focus on safe alignment, and accessible adaptations. She is skilled in recognising individual needs and supporting students to modify their practice with confidence.
Pranayama and meditation are woven naturally into Tanya’s teaching, supporting not only strong, healthy bodies but calm, steady minds, which are the foundation of not only a sustainable yoga practice, but a fulfilling life. Yoga continues to guide Tanya toward growth, resilience, and connection, and she feels honoured to share these teachings with her students.
